So,as you already know well that thermodynamic panel system is very economical to save your money when you heating the water. But,there are many houses who already owned the electrical water heater. If you abandon the old water heater,to buy a complete syetm of thermodynamic panel.maybe you will feel it is a waste. So,maybe you want to Retrofit electrical water heater to thermodynamic panel water heater. Is it possible? Our answer is:Yes!

Then, how to retrofit electrical water heater to thermodynamic panel water heater? It`s very simple, what you need to do is to buy a Solar immersion copper coil, you can go to solarcoil to buy one. This company locates in UK.

Retrofit electrical water heater to thermodynamic panel water heater

After you buy a Solar Copper Coil, you just need to take out the heating element from your existed water cylinder and then insert Solar Copper Coil, and then connect Solar Copper Coil with thermodynamic block and thermodynamic panel as following. Finally, put temperature sensor head into the temperature sensor tube. Finish, just so simple!

Concerning for Solar Copper coil in Solarcoil, there are 4 main products as following:

1),350mm unit. 1-3/4″ bsp thread Installed in the side of a mains pressure cylinder..The measurement from the cap to the end of the coil is 350mm…

2),800mm unit. This coil is suitable for most top mounted immersion heaters into copper cylinders. It has a standard immersion 2-1/4″ bsp thread ..The measurement from the cap to the end of the coil is 800mm…This dimension can be made to suit your needs, From 350mm to 1200mm.

3),350mm unit. This coil is suitable for most side mounted immersion heaters into copper cylinders 2-1/4″ bsp thread ..The measurement from the cap to the end of the coil is 350mm…

4),800mm Electric unit. This coil is produced incorporating a standard electric immersion heater. Now you can retain your immersion heater as a backup and install a solarcoil. Suitable for most Top mounted immersion heaters into copper cylinders 2-1/4″ bsp thread ..The measurement from the cap to the end of the coil is 800mm…

I have a standard water heater, which i typically turn on 30 minutes before i require it (which has to do with as soon as a day), and turn it off right after i use it.

So,I want to retrofit it to be thermodynamic solar panel system.Pls give me more info.

As you are manually controlling you hot water as and when you need it you will probably not be spending a great deal in running cost. You should think about the principle out lay and how long this might take considering a low demand. Having said that a thermal dynamic system can be fitted to almost any hot water system. If you have a cylinder with an emmersion heater then you half way there it should take no more than a day to fit a system to a typical house depend on pipe route. The system will work in harmony with you existing system how ever in you case I doubt you would need and 2nd heat source providing the cylinder is a good size!
Would need a bit more info on you specific system to be hore help really 🙂

The only way to fit a thermal dynamic system to an instantaneous water heater I.e. Combi boiler or electric heater would be to install a pressurised hot water cylinder or a mains pressure water coil thermal store. The system is set up so the water heater is bypassed when the cylinder gets up to temperature. There are two or three ways of doing this depending on the system you have. Generally speaking I would allow two days to install a system like this as it’s important to get the bypass temperature right.

I am considering to retrofit my electrical water heater to be thermodynamic solar panel system . What are the advantages of going with a gas or electrical tankless water heater? Rates and effiency? Efficiency and longevity? Exactly what would you professionals like in your house?

Basically when you run an immersion heater you are using 3200 watts of power and you are getting pretty much 3200watts of heat produced
With a thermal dynamic system you are running let’s say an 800watt compressor and you could be getting 2200watts of heat produced. If I were a home owner I would go pressurised stored water much higher flow rate throughout the house. 🙂
